Take Ownership of Your Attitude and Stop Making Excuses

I just see it way too many times.

Someone asked me what the hardest thing about being a coach is.

My response was (and still is):⁣ “Getting people out of their own way.”⁣

And trust me, I’ve heard it all before.

The self-doubt.

SEARCHING for reasons to quit and give up.

Blaming money constantly while we keep swiping at Starbucks, bars and clicking “order” on UberEats.

I could go on and on but it all boils down to …. Responsibility.

Too often we allow ourselves to avoid responsibility for our own actions, but here is the radical truth… until you start taking responsibility for EVERYTHING in your life, it will be very difficult to change ANYTHING in your life.

How I take ownership of myself and my life is simple and it’s driven in mindset.

  1. I don’t focus on everything I “have to do.” I focus on everything I “get to do.”

I have to work out today → I get to workout today

I have to do client check-ins  → I get to do client check-ins

I have to spend some time with my friends → I get to spend some time with my friends

See how every “obligation” turned into an opportunity?

  1. By the same logic, everything I “can’t afford to do” or “don’t have time for” is actually everything that I’m “unwilling to make a priority”.

I don’t have time to go to the gym today  → I’m unwilling to make physical activity a priority today.

Do you see the difference?

It sounds like a lot of work and yes, there will be times when you have to balance competing priorities. At the end of the day, you are the only one in control of your money, your time, and your energy. If you want to see a change in your life -
